Roy Christmann

1957 - 2014

As if in answer to long-unfulfilled fervent prayers, Roy came into our life in February 2012, at a difficult time for Blade Tech and StrinGnosis. He quickly became impassioned by the project, taking on the seemingly impossible. With limited resources, with nights running into days, he turned StrinGnosis around, rebuilding it from disarray into the formidable tool it has become.

And for making our dream his, and making it come true, we owe him our undying debt of gratitude. Just as he was riding the crest of the realization of his vision, just as his indefatigable efforts began to bear fruit, he was cruelly snatched away from us.

Roy was more than an incredibly gifted programmer and architect; he was a gentleman and a doting father to his daughter Natalia, whom he loved very much, a dear friend and mentor, who gave freely of his time. Shy but genial, in the short time he was with us, he quickly became part of our family.

It is hard to believe that such an irrepressible spirit as Roy could be stilled so abruptly, leaving behind his crestfallen family, friends and colleagues, and a gap that cannot be filled. And for us at Blade who grieve his loss, he leaves behind many memories, of his dedication and kindness, of what can be achieved with grit and determination even in the direst of circumstances, of a half-finished life whose legacy we will now carry, and fulfill.

Rest well, Roy, you have done much in life. You will be dearly missed.
